No. It runs from the included USB cable plugged into a 5V USB wall adapter, like a phone charger block.
Can it go next to the crib?
No. Keep the projector and its cord at least 3 ft from any crib or bed and out of reach.

No, it uses an LED light. Still, don't look straight into it with the shade off.
